The Europrivacy Certification Process in Detail
The Europrivacy certification process is clearly structured and transparent. It consists of three successive phases:
Phase 1 – Preparation and Analysis
- Joint prioritization of data processing activities to be certified first
- Assessment of the current situation: Which data protection requirements apply? What is your current compliance status?
- Documentation of the compliance of selected processes based on Europrivacy criteria
- Identification of potential gaps or areas for improvement
Phase 2 – Implementation and Certification
- Support in implementing necessary measures to address identified gaps
- Guidance from IITR Datenschutz GmbH in preparing for the audit
- Submission of documentation to an independent, accredited certification body
